Nintendo releases the Nintendo Switch

On March 3rd 2017, Nintendo released their new video game console, Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch could be used either as a console by plugging into a TV, or as a portable handheld using the built in 6.2-inch screen.

As of September 2023, over 132 million Nintendo Switch units have been sold, making it the third-best-selling game console ever after the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS.

Launch titles for the Nitendo Switch included The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Skylanders: Imaginators, and Super Bomberman R.
